Tour recap: June 30 - July 2
After a brief stint at home, we headed out on the second leg of the tour, and we had several new-to-us venues to hit. First stop: a Friday night gig in Appomattox, VA at the Loose Shoe Too brewery.
On Saturday afternoon, we were booked at Fables & Feathers winery, about a half hour east of Roanoke. It was freakishly hot outside and we were glad to play in the air-conditioned sunroom. There was a group of young people there having a good ol' time, and several of the girls got up and danced. That's always fun!

Cool staircase - those are not real books though! Thankfully we did not have to load in this way. |

If I had a dollar for every time Dacey photographed me tuning, I could buy myself a new instrument. |

A lovely setting to play in! And comfy seating during breaks. |

I did a solo rendition of "Landslide" on request |
After the gig we checked in at our Airbnb, where we stayed two nights. We had a suite in part of the upstairs of a bigger house. Convenient to Roanoke and the two wineries we played that weekend, very comfy, and the free-roaming chickens were a bonus.
On Sunday afternoon, we played at Virginia Mountain Winery, about 45 minutes north of Roanoke. It was nice to see Bill H. there! We met Bill a few years ago at a fund-raising event where we were playing and he was photographing. We got to chatting, and found out that he is a Williams College alum like me! Small world. All that backstory and I don't even have a picture of him with us.

Our setup on the patio. Ask me about the people who sat in those red chairs. Bill remembers!
