New van, new venue

We had to bite the bullet and get a new van to replace Betty for touring. We really, really did not want to take on a car payment, but it's unavoidable. Betty needs to retire. So we got Teddy, a Ford Transit Connect cargo van with only about 31K miles on him (as opposed to Betty's 175K). Here they are together:

That's Betty on the left; she is currently listed for sale. Teddy is on the right. We did not purposely get another van with the exact same color; we just wanted one that is not white!

Here's Teddy with our music gear crammed in; there's plenty of room but we're probably going to install some shelving to make better use of all that empty vertical space.

We took Teddy to his first gig last Sunday. That was at the Portside Grill on Urbanna Creek, a new venue for us.

This was our view while we were playing:

At least one couple arrived by boat to listen to music and have some drinks!

After we finished playing, we had a nice meal. In this picture, John is enjoying his caprese salad with crab, served on a slate.

Rain started rolling in as we were packing up, but no harm done. Unlike today, when we were supposed to play in Ashland but had to cancel due to thunderstorms!
